JJ Valaya showcases festive collection ‘Rumeli’ at FDCI x LFW

Designer JJ Valaya showcased his new festive collection ‘Rumeli’ at the Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week’s ongoing edition. The collection featured jewel-toned hues for both men and women with botanical motifs featuring throughout. Notable details included blouses with corset lacing up the back, bold monochrome patterns, and printed turbans for the men.
Bollywood celebrity Mrunal Thakur as the showstopper wore a deep scarlet and metallic lehenga featuring a mix of delicate floral embellishments, stripes, zig zags, and large peacocks around the bottom of the skirt. Accessorised by signature JJ Valaya belt, traditional jewellery, and a sparkling crown-like headdress, the look was a modern take on regal splendour.
The second edition of FDCI x LFW runs until October 10 and sponsors include Rise Worldwide and Nexa. The phygital fashion week also features a business-to-business virtual designer showroom, NFTs, and design contests.
