Bengaluru-based ready-to-wear clothing manufacturers recently collaborated to form the ‘Bangalore Apparel Manufacturers Association’(BAMA ), a registered forum that would facilitate collaboration, connection between the manufacturers. Since its inception, the forum has registered almost 53 leading apparel manufacturers in the city and plans to add 5-6 more this year.
Offer more value added solutions
The association plans to organise a series of trade fairs, knowledge exchange programmes, seminars and workshops for its members. “We plan to get affiliated with other industry organisations to offer more value added solutions to our members,” says PravinMutha, President, BAMA. Membership to the association is purely on invitation basis as of now. “We follow strict eligibility criteria for membership,” adds Mutha.
Growth plans for the future
The association will host its first trade fair of ready-to-wear suppliers and accessories by the second week February 2019.” We expect almost 100 participants coming from all over India and this will be a great opportunity for manufacturers to see the latest collections under one roof,” adds Mutha. The alliance is also planning to organise its first ever fashion trade fair for the industry by the first week of July.
