Dollar Industries plans to add gym wear, plans rural expansion

Dollar Industries is looking to add gym wear to its offerings and has started using micro modal fabric. It is looking at Rs 1,000 crores turnover helped by rural expansion. After reporting a turnover of Rs 906 cores for the financial year 2016 to 2017, Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of Dollar Industries, stated the company has forecast a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore for the current financial year.

Despite the retail challenges brought on by introduction GST and demonetization, Gupta said expansion of both product lines and retail both online and physical as reasons why the brand will succeed.

As for new products, Dollar Industries’ brand Bigboss, whose customer base is mostly men, has a new range, Bigboss premium vests, sports vests, fashion trunks, premium trunks and premium briefs. Moreover, the brand has also diversified its styles and has broken tradition and used fresh colours and shades. The label is now focusing on Tier II and III cities, as is an emerging trend in Indian fashion retail, as brand consciousness is increasing in rural areas and there is more demand for branded garments.
