Ikea, the home furnishing giant has stopped its online sales in India, because of lockdown called to prevent Coronavirus spread. Considering the situation, like other retailers Ikea had no option but to stop its online sales with immediate effect. Earlier on March 20, Ikea had shut down its only store in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana.
In a statement, Ikea said, “At Ikea, we are committed to the safety and well-being of our customers and co-workers.”
“We are closely following governmental directives and, in line with the guidelines, we will keep our Hyderabad store, our customer support centre and our warehouses closed. Hence, we will no longer be able to take online orders starting March 23, 2020, 6 pm, until further notice,” the statement added.
