In November of this year, the United States set a new record for garment imports, with a total value of $7.38 billion dollars

08 January 2022, Mumbai:

According to the latest OTEXA figures, the United States had record-breaking clothing imports in November of this year, with import values of US $ 7.38 billion. It's worth mentioning that this is the highest ever import value for the clothes category in the 11th month of a calendar year for the United States.

In November of this year, the values increased by 39.70 percent year over year, and by 33 percent when compared to the same month in 2019. Given the enormous imports that occurred in November, it's reasonable to state that all recent predictions concerning increasing sourcing of fashion brands over the Christmas season have come true, as evidenced by statistics.

In the previous five years, US clothing imports have consistently remained between US $ 5.20 billion and US $ 5.97 billion. The increased imports by US purchasers appeared to benefit all major garment exporting countries.

China defied its decreasing position, at least for the time being, as its garment exports to the United States totaled US $ 1.90 billion in November of this year, a rise of 49.20% year on year. With US $ 1.05 billion in garment shipments, Vietnam remained static, increasing by only 4.50 percent.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, did not miss out on the chance and recorded US $ 662.74 million in clothing exports to the United States in the eleventh month of 2021, a 78.30 percent year-over-year increase.

India did not miss the train either, albeit it stayed in second place behind Indonesia. In November of this year, India exported garments worth US $ 363.84 million (up 54.70 percent), while Indonesia exported apparel worth US $ 421.21 million (up 56.80 percent). Pakistan's exports to the United States increased by 84.70 percent, totaling US $ 242.70 million.

This is the highest growth rate among nations that supplied clothes to the United States worth at least $100 million in November.
