Lakme Fashion Week designers announced, Manish Malhotra to close

Manish Malhotra will close the Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with Apple’s iPad Pro. LFW will commence next August 16 at the St Regis Hotel in Mumbai and the event will kick off with a show by Sanjay Garg on its opening night. The fashion week will have a busy schedule and designers such as Narendra Kumar, Sonaakshi Raaj, Monika Nidhi, and Gaurang Shah will showcase their collections on the runway.

On August 17 sustainable Fashion Day will be hosted where delegate registration is now open, designers Sunita Shanker and Anavila are already confirmed. The day will highlight the problem of waste in fashion industry and show collections that offer environmentally friendly alternatives. LFW will also host its 24th Gen Next event which takes place every year and this year’s designers have currently been undergoing a mentoring programme to prepare them for their upcoming shows.

Having participated in many LFWs, Manish Malhotra’s show this year be in collaboration with Apple. Malhotra designed the entirety of his collection on an iPad Pro and he is set to showcase his well-known blend of traditional and western styles with his new design process. Even Masaba Gupta will showcase a Madagascar themed collection before taking it to London Fashion Week. As the event draws near, more details are being shared on LFW’s various social media channels.
