Engaged in manufacturing finishing equipment for hotels, hospitals and the garment industry, Ramsons is now setting up a commercial laundry in Bengaluru. “We have launched certain special equipment like the Go Green, which enables us to use enzyme and softener washes that result in substantial saving of water and chemicals,” says M Sai Navneethan, Consultant – International Sales Ramsons. “We have also launched mine technology which enables us to wash garments and also reduce ozone levels and go-green,” he adds.
Supporting ‘Making in India’ initative
Ramsons boasts of a reputed client list that includes brands like H&M, Levi’s, Muji etc. The brand has four manufacturing verticals and produces everything within the country. “These units support the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and provides employment to over 5,000 people,” explains Navneethan.
Bengaluru-based Ramsons is an engineering-driven company that largely focuses on innovation. Present in around 40 countries, the brand now aims to go global through digital platforms.
Building an ecosystem for finance access, government support
Though India is gearing to introduce new manufacturing machines, it still has miles to go in this segment as there is a lot of research and development happening overseas. “In order to establish ourselves in this segment, we need to develop more local solutions as India experiences around nine months of summer and only three months of winter while it’s reverse in European countries. We should therefore, develop an eco system which can provide access to proper finance, good payment terms, enough support from the government on other areas.”
