As per the company’s latest investor presentation, Reliance Retail’s fashion and lifestyle retailing business crossed the Rs 10,000 crore milestones in 2018-19. This, despite the contribution of the business declining from 10.3 per cent of total sales in FY18 to 8.4 per cent in FY19.
Accordingly, Reliance Retail’s fashion and lifestyle retail business revenue in 2018-19 was Rs 10,967 crore as compared to Rs 7,127 crore in the previous fiscal. Reliance Retail’s revenue last fiscal almost doubled to Rs 1,30,566 crore (Rs 69,198 crore in FY18).
Reliance Retail has positioned multiple brands and stores for each consumer and income segment in fashion and lifestyle space: Reliance Market and Smart in value apparel, Trends and Footprint in value fashion.
The company has Ajio, Marks & Spencer, Project Eve and Reliance Jewels in mid and premium segment, while in luxury segment it has international brands, The White Crow and Ajio Gold.
The company added 333 Trends stores over last two years which is the largest in India’s fashion retail. Out of this, over 200 new stores were added last fiscal itself. Of this, it has launched 65 smaller stores in tier III and IV towns. Reliance also added categories such as footwear, jewelry and cosmetic inside Trends stores last fiscal.
