Textile Ministry advises manufacturers to register with GeM

The Indian textile industry recently advised apparel manufacturers to register with with National Public Procurement Portal, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) (https://gem.gov.in) if they wish to supply goods to various Government departments and agencies. This is a digital e-commerce portal, from where all supplies to Government will be routed.

Product categories like emporium products show 4,925 results on this portal and personal safety kit reflective luminous garments show 1,019 results – while few product categories have very few results (some even in single-digit) only.

It shows that apart from other product segments, there are good opportunities to get business in these specific product categories
