Bihar Government proposes mega hub under PM Mitra Mega Textile Park

16 March 2022, Mumbai:

The Bihar government has proposed to set up mega-hub under the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park envisioned by the NDA regime.

Shahnawaz Hussain, Industries Minister, informed, the state government has identified 1,719 acres of land in West Champaran.

The last date to submit a proposal from the state to the Union textiles ministry to acquire one of the seven ‘Mega Textile Parks’ under the PM Mitra project is March 15.

Hussain said that the state government has submitted the proposal to the central government after scouting the land well in time and making all required preparations.

The Cabinet Committee has approved the setting up of seven mega textile parks under the Pradhan Mantri Mitra Yojana 2022 for which an amount of ₹4,445 crores has been allocated for the next five years.

The scheme aims to establish “holistic integrated textile processing regions” across the country.

The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks will integrate the currently scattered value chain of textile products.
