Shoppers Stop Limited made a significant announcement today, unveiling the promotion of Mr. Kavindra Mishra.
Formerly serving as Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Homestop, Mr. Mishra steps into the role of Executive Director & CEO following the departure of Mr. Venu Nair, the former Managing Director & CEO.
Elevation Backed by Committee Recommendation
The decision to elevate Mr. Kavindra Mishra to the position of Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer stems from the recommendation of the Nomination, Remuneration, and Corporate Governance Committee.
The formal endorsement took place during the Company's Board of Directors meeting on August 24, 2023. His appointment as an Additional Director with DIN: 07068041 becomes effective on September 1, 2023. Serving as Executive Director & CEO for a 3-year term, beginning September 1, 2023, is contingent upon shareholder approval.
Professional Journey and Recognition
Before his tenure as Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Homestop at Shoppers Stop, Mr. Kavindra Mishra held the position of Managing Director and CEO at House of Anita Dongre, overseeing brands like AND, Anita Dongre, and Global Desi.
His career features a notable 6-year stint as the Managing Director of Pepe Jeans India, contributing significantly to its transition from a joint venture to a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pepe Jeans Global.
Additionally, Mr. Mishra co-founded Zovi.Com, a startup backed by Tiger Global & Saif Partners. He received the prestigious Inspiring CEO Award within the retail and lifestyle sector from the Economic Times in 2022.

Educated with a Post Graduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Mr. Mishra commenced his retail journey with ABFRL, initially associated with Allen Solly, later overseeing their Middle East Business.
With a wealth of experience spanning over 24 years, he held senior leadership roles in diverse retail giants such as Tommy Hilfiger, United Colors Of Benetton, Pepe Jeans, and House Of Anita Dongre.
