The first-ever ‘Samarth’ sale event of e-commerce major Flipkart will be held on January 26, marking the occasion of India’s Republic Day.
The event will focus on rural India and showcase a wide range of handicrafts and handlooms from across the country.
It will be attended by artisans, weavers, people with disabilities, rural and urban women working in self-help groups associated with the Flipkart Samarth program.
Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group says, the company is committed to continuing working towards creating more opportunities for increasing business growth for India’s local communities.
The dedicated sale event will provide Flipkart Samarth partners a platform to showcase their diverse products and bring customers closer to India’s rich historic culture. Launched in 2019, the Flipkart Samarth program helps weavers, craftspersons, and artisans from across the country sell their products on its platform.
The initiative has impacted the livelihoods of over a million people with the majority of its partners from Tier-II cities and beyond, claims Flipkart.
