Amended Technology Upgradation Funds Scheme is being simplified by the Ministry of Textiles: India's government

18th September 2021, Mumbai:

Piyush Goyal, the Union Textiles Minister (MoT), and Darshana Jardosh, the Union Textiles Minister for the state, recently paid a visit to the textile plant at GIDC Sachin in Surat.

Both ministers also met with the Southern Gujarat Chambers of Commerce and Industry for an interactive session (SGCCI). The government is striving to simplify the Amended Technology Upgradation Funds Scheme, according to Piyush Goyal (ATUFS).

“We need to curb wrongdoing, and that is the government's responsibility,” he added. We'll keep working to resolve the issues.”

He promised the city's businessmen that the partial denotification problem at Surat Textile Park will be handled as soon as possible by his government.

“I was astonished at how a proposal has been on hold for four months,” Piyush Goyal remarked, addressing a concern made regarding 6 lakh square meters of sewage treatment plant (STP). But, because it has come to my attention, we will investigate the situation by Wednesday and reach a conclusion.”

Surat, he said, is poised to benefit from the recently launched PLI plan for textiles because it is India's largest center for the Man-Made Fibre sector. The program will produce job possibilities as well as worldwide champions.

“Surat will be essential in expanding local output and achieving the sector's ambitious export targets,” he added.

Surat's textile sector, according to the Minister, is playing a critical role in bolstering the Indian economy and setting an example for the world market due to the technical progress of its textile units.
