Industry mourns as Ricky Sahni, Managing Director, GTE passes away

In a heartbreaking news for the textile and apparel industry, Ricky Sahni, Managing Director, Garment Technology Expo (GTE) passed away recently.

He had recently announced his much-awaited Lace and Trim Show in collaboration with India Exposition Mart (IEML) and merger with IEML in Delhi.

More than a successful professional, Sahni was a bridge between people, ideas, and opportunities. His conversations were always laced with optimism and a deep belief in the potential of India’s textile and apparel sector. More than just work in the industry; he nurtured it, bringing together global trends in apparel technology for the growth and development of the industry.

Beyond his professional milestones, Sahni was cherished for his kindness. Be it mentoring a newcomer, guiding a peer, or simply offering a smile on a stressful day, he had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel valued. His humility stood tall against his achievements, and his friendships went far beyond business cards and boardrooms.

He is survived by his parents, wife, sister, and extended family, who are joined in grief by a vast network of industry friends and collaborators.

His passing is a significant loss to the textile and apparel sector in India and beyond.
