This digital expansion targets the rapid demand for immediacy, introducing ‘express delivery’ services that leverage the group’s extensive physical infrastructure. Bridging the physical-digital divide

The initiative addresses the evolving preferences of Gen Z and millennial consumers who increasingly utilize ‘phygital’ journeys - browsing via app while expecting the service standards of high-street boutiques. Tushar Ved, President, Apparel Group India, notes, the platform is a ‘definitive step’ in pioneering a tech-forward environment. This rollout is particularly timely as the premium segment now accounts for 54 per cent of the market share, driven by rising disposable incomes and a shift from unbranded to branded fashion across Tier I and Tier II cities.

Navigating competitive retail landscapes

The primary challenge remains the intense competition from fast-fashion giants and specialized e-commerce aggregators. However, Apparel Group’s advantage lies in its unified customer view and robust logistics. By providing exclusive product drops and personalized recommendations, the Aldo app functions as a high-conversion tool within an omnichannel retail market expected to reach $14.57 billion globally by 2030. This localized innovation secures Aldo’s position as a dominant player in India’s modern retail ecosystem.

Apparel Group is a global retail powerhouse managing over 85 brands and 2,300 stores. In India, it operates 300+ stores across 50 cities, focusing on premium lifestyle and footwear. With a historical foundation dating back to 1972 for ALDO, the group maintains a strong financial outlook fueled by aggressive digital transformation and expansion into emerging regional markets.
