9 April 2026, Mumbai

Vedant Fashions has inaugurated a flagship Manyavar store at Maxus Mall, Mira Bhayandar, signaling a tactical move to capture demand in Mumbai’s burgeoning satellite corridors. This launch coincides with a broader industry shift toward organized retail in the ethnic wear segment, which is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.1 per cent through 2035. Despite a subdued wedding calendar in early 2026, Manyavar is prioritizing physical accessibility in high-traffic micro-markets to maintain its 40 per cent lead in the branded men’s celebration wear category.

Retail optimization and financial resilience

The opening reflects a calibrated ‘quality-over-quantity’ expansion strategy. While the company recently rationalized underperforming smaller formats, it continues to invest in high-visibility Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) to drive ‘Sale of Customers’ growth, which rose by 5.4 per cent in the nine-month period ending December 2025. By maintaining a debt-free balance sheet and gross margins above 67 per cent, Vedant Fashions is leveraging its inventory-led model to buffer against discretionary spending volatility. The company focuses on enhancing the consumer experience through regional store density and data-led merchandising, stated a representative during the recent earnings call.

Omnichannel integration and market outlook

Manyavar is integrating its physical expansion with advanced digital initiatives, including AI-driven demand forecasting and the ‘Manyavar Shaadi Show’ podcast to engage Millennial and Gen Z cohorts. As the organized share of the Rs 1.5 lakh crore Indian ethnic market is expected to reach 35 per cent by 2027, the Mira Bhayandar facility serves as a critical node in Manyavar's 1.79 million sq ft global retail network. The brand aims to capitalize on an estimated 10 million annual Indian weddings, positioning itself as a vertically integrated leader in a highly fragmented sector.

India's premier celebration wear company, Vedant Fashions features brands like Manyavar, Mohey, and Twamev. Dominating the men’s ethnic segment, it operates 664 EBOs globally. With FY26 revenue tracking toward Rs 1,410 crore, the company targets a 15 per cent retail area increase to reach a 2 million sq ft footprint by year-end.
