NBA teams up with Lakmé Fashion Week to encourage Indian designers to create a collection for the ‘NBA 75' collection

29th September 2021, Mumbai:

To commemorate “NBA 75,” the league's historic 75th Anniversary Season in 2021-22, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has partnered with Lakmé Fashion Week to invite fashion designers from throughout India to submit ideas for an “NBA 75” collection.

A judging team comprised of fashion designers, industry professionals, and local influencers will review selected designs, with the winning designer being unveiled at the next Lakmé Fashion Week in October.

After that, the winner will be mentored by a top fashion expert and will collaborate with the NBA on a capsule collection to honor NBA 75.

Scott Levy, NBA Asia Executive Vice President & Managing Director, said, "We are delighted to partner with Lakmé Fashion Week and provide Indian designers the ability to express their ideas in honor of NBA 75."

“During our historic 75th Anniversary Season, the NBA and its players are linked with fashion and culture, and this friendly competition will demonstrate the creativity and enthusiasm that Indian designers have for basketball and the NBA.”

The NBA 75 collection, which includes jerseys, T-shirts, headgear, sweatpants, hoodies, jackets, and other items, will debut at Lakmé Fashion Week in March 2022 and will be available for purchase on NBAStore.in and at select retail locations.

The National Basketball Association, the Women's National Basketball Association, the NBA G League, and the NBA 2K League are the four professional sports leagues that make up the NBA.

The Basketball Africa League is run jointly by the NBA and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) (BAL).

The NBA has a significant worldwide presence, with games and programming available in more than 50 languages in 215 nations and territories, and merchandise available in more than 100,000 outlets in 100 countries across six continents.
