Hong Kong-based fashion retailer Giordano plans to penetrate deeper into India's metro and Tier I, II, and III cities. Currently, the brand has 50 stores, including 13 EBOs and 37 shop-in-shops, across 23 cities and 13 cities in India.

It now plans to double its store count to 100 comprising around 15 EBOs and the remaining shop-in-shops, by the next fiscal year, says Mark Loynd, Executive Director and Head of Overseas Market Development.

Currently, Giordano generates 18–20 percent of its revenue from online and offline channels. Last year, the brand clocked Rs 18 crore in apparel revenue. This year, it plans to increase this to Rs 25 crore.

Giordano’s expansion plans also include launching the womenswear and kidswear segments and expanding its accessories category.

Foraying into the Indian market in 2008 as a premium brand, Giordano exited it by 2012 as its strategies did not work in the favor of the brand. However, it again re-entered the market in 2019.
