The Chief Minister of Rajasthan (India) has called for the establishment of a park under the MITRA plan

4th October 2021, Mumbai:

Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, has appealed to the federal government for help in establishing a giant textile park at Kankani, Jodhpur, as part of the Central Government's Mega Investment Textile Park Scheme (MITRA).

The state's textile sector will benefit from the construction of the giant textile park. He conveyed his aspirations for coordination and collaboration from the Centre in a meeting with Upendra Prasad Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, and top officials from the state industries department.

The CM stated that the Rajasthan government is working on a strategy to establish Rajasthan as a major hub for textile-based businesses and that the state is prepared to give 1,000 acres of land as well as other required infrastructure.

He went on to say that the textile industry meets the needs for connection with dedicated freight routes as well as enough raw materials, logistics, and labor resources. Rajasthan holds a major role in the manufacturing and export of textiles in the country, with clothing and textile centers including Jaipur, Bhilwara, Pali, and Pushkar.

The CM also stated that the Barmer refinery is now under development. The state government is embarking on an ambitious plan to turn the area into a petrochemical and petrochemical powerhouse.

He said that the Petroleum, Chemicals, and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) has a lot of potential for developing a technological textile sector based on these sectors' downstream products.

The meeting also addressed the establishment of a ‘Technical Textile Zone' on 100 acres of land inside the designated Marwar Industrial Cluster in Rohat, Pali.
