RRVL to open 2,000 new stores each year

02 September 2025, Mumbai

At the 48th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries (RIL), Isha Ambani Piramal, Executive Director, Reliance Retail Ventures (RRVL) announced plans to open 2,000 to 3,000 new stores each year.

This year, RRVL opened 2,659 new stores, bringing its total to 19,340 locations that span 77 million sq ft across more than 7,000 towns. The company is often the first modern retailer to enter many of these areas, which has given it a first-mover advantage and helped it build strong customer loyalty.

In addition to its brick-and-mortar stores, Reliance Retail's growing online channels are a major part of its business. These online sales currently make up a high single-digit share of retail revenue, and the company projects this will grow to over 20 per cent within the next three years.

The company is also a leader in hyper-local quick commerce, using its vast store network, strategically placed dark stores, and extensive consumer data to provide faster and more reliable deliveries.

Reliance Retail aims to achieve Rs 1 lakh crore in revenue within five years. In FY 2025, the company's gross revenue increased by 8 per cent to Rs 330,943 crore, while its EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) grew by 8.6 per cent to Rs 25,094 crore. The company plans to deliver over 20 per cent CAGR in retail revenue over the next three years.
