Uniqlo India records 44% growth in FY25 revenue

28 August 2025, Mumbai

Uniqlo India recorded a 44 per cent growth in FY25 revenue totaling Rs 1,100 crore ($135 million). This growth was driven by the brand’s retail expansion, rising recognition, and a strong performance in e-commerce, the company stated.

The company’s profit after tax (PAT) for the year more than doubled to Rs 178.4 crore.

The retailer initially concentrated its store openings in North India due to the higher demand for winter wear. However, it has since increased its footprint. In 2023, Uniqlo entered the Mumbai market, where it received a ‘strong’ response. This success has given the company the confidence to expand further south. Uniqlo is scheduled to open its first store in Bengaluru this week, marking its debut in South India. It also plans to open a store in Pune next month.

The Indian market is now a key part of Fast Retailing's global growth strategy. Given the size of the market and its growth rate, and how the company’s 'LifeWear' has been accepted by Indian customers, there is huge potential here, says a company official. The brand targets long-term annual sales of ¥10 trillion ($65 billion), which is triple their current sales, and it hopes India will play a significant role in contributing to that growth.
