Kitex Garments (KGL) has formalized a significant capital injection into its material subsidiary, Kitex Apparel Parks (KAPL), effectively converting Rs 119.86 crore of outstanding advances into equity shares as of March 31, 2026. This transaction is part of a larger Rs 171.23 crore funding round executed alongside its promoter entity, Kitex Childrenswear. By maintaining a 70 per cent controlling interest, KGL is securing the foundational capital required for its expansive ‘fiber-to-apparel’ cluster in Telangana, which is designed to streamline the procurement-to-production lifecycle for the global infant wear market.

Operational readiness amid market volatility

The investment arrives at a critical juncture as KAPL commences full-scale operations during the FY25–26. While KGL’s standalone operations have remained resilient - reporting a 36.8 per cent revenue growth to Rs 164.35 crore in recent quarterly cycles - the consolidated entity has grappled with a net loss of Rs 17 crore, largely due to capital-intensive infrastructure scaling and auditor-flagged risks in overseas investments. Sabu M Jacob, Managing Director has previously noted, domestic capacity expansion is vital to offset international supply chain disruptions and volatile raw material pricing.

DFU Profile

Capturing the sustainable infant wear demand

With the global baby apparel market projected to reach $219.76 billion by late 2026, Kitex is positioning its new textile park as a hub for organic and eco-certified manufacturing. The facility is engineered to meet stringent ESG standards, which are increasingly becoming a prerequisite for European and North American retail contracts. By integrating yarn production and garmenting within a single ecosystem, the company aims to reduce lead times and operational overheads, targeting an annual revenue contribution of Rs 1,000 crore from its newly launched domestic brand, Little Star, within the next three years.
