V-Mart Retail concluded FY25-26 with a significant operational growth, reporting a 24 per cent Y-o-Y revenue increase to Rs 971 crore for the final quarter. This growth was underpinned by a record-breaking expansion strategy that saw the company inaugurate 92 new outlets over the past twelve months, the highest annual addition in its history. By strategically targeting high-potential regions, the retailer has successfully increased its total operating footprint to 577 stores as of March 31, 2026, reinforcing its dominance in the value fashion segment across India’s emerging markets.

Same-store resilience amid evolving demand

Despite a slightly cautious revision to its annual growth forecast earlier in the year due to shifting festive cycles, V-Mart achieved a robust 12 per cent same-store sales growth (SSSG) in Q4. This performance was largely driven by its core V-Mart format, while the ‘Unlimited’ brand contributed a steady 9 per cent increase. Management’s focus on the youth demographic - now comprising over 30 per cent of the customer base - has proven instrumental in sustaining traffic.

Analysts note, the company’s ability to maintain double-digit SSSG during typically lean periods highlights a successful transition toward a more data-informed, trend-responsive inventory model.

DFU Profile

Strategic geographic penetration and operational efficiency

The latest expansion phase has seen a heavy concentration in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal, where V-Mart is leveraging its localized supply chain to optimize logistics costs. The retailer is also seeing reduced overheads through its ‘Future Factory’ sourcing initiatives and a narrowing of losses in its digital wing, LimeRoad. With an EBITDA margin currently holding at 8.7 per cent, the company is positioning itself for sustained profitability in FY27, aiming for a 12 per cent annual increase in net retail area to capture a larger share of the projected $100 billion Indian value retail market.
