A new retail technology platform, Confluxe aims to streamline the complex entry process for global fashion and lifestyle brands into the Indian market. Founded by industry veterans Rajesh Narkar, Former Executive, Myntra and Ajio, and Louis Coucke, Former Executive, H&M India, the Bengaluru-based startup has secured $1.6 million in pre-seed funding led by Wavemaker Partners, with participation from Kriscore Capital. The platform is designed to function as an integrated operating layer, consolidating market entry strategy, digital commerce, data-led merchandising, and localized supply chain execution into a unified ecosystem.
Addressing structural supply-side challenges
While India’s $130 billion fashion market is characterized by robust consumer demand for international labels, global brands have historically found the pathway to scale fragmented, capital-intensive, and operationally demanding. Global brands currently account for approximately 12 per cent of the domestic market - a sharp contrast to the 30 per cent penetration seen in mature economies like the United States, Europe, and China. Confluxe seeks to mitigate these entry barriers by providing a ‘Make in India’ supply chain model that allows international companies to localize their production and distribution efficiently. According to Narkar, the primary opportunity lies in building a sophisticated supply layer that combines commercial discipline with a modern technology backbone to facilitate scalable, long-term growth.
Infrastructure for disciplined expansion
The newly raised capital will be allocated toward launching the platform’s initial brand partnerships, developing its core data infrastructure, and expanding the workforce across operations, commerce, and growth functions. Investors emphasize that the founders’ unique blend of e-commerce scale expertise and multinational brand operations positions the startup to solve the ‘access versus ambition’ dilemma for foreign labels. By stitching together direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels, online marketplaces, and physical retail operations, Confluxe aims to provide a more disciplined and capital-efficient route for brands that are well-regarded internationally but lack a structured presence in the Indian consumer landscape.
Confluxe is a technology-enabled brand operating platform that assists international fashion and lifestyle brands in entering and scaling within the Indian market. It integrates market strategy, digital commerce, and localized supply chain execution. The company is currently focused on onboarding its initial brand partners and building its operational framework.
