EARTHDAY.ORG has launched a fashion for the planet campaign with the goal of changing the fashion industry's direction

09 November 2021, Mumbai:

EARTHDAY.ORG has launched its new campaign "Fashion for the Earth," which is dedicated to improving the fashion industry's trajectory and educating the public about sustainable fashion.

EARTHDAY.ORG is one of the largest environmental recruiters in the world, with over 150,000 partners in 192 countries fighting to achieve environmental democracy.

The Environmental Protection Agency, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Endangered Species Act were all passed as a result of Earth Day, which began as a grassroots campaign in 1970.

Today, EARTHDAY.ORG will take action to mitigate the effects of an industry that wastes scarce resources, damages soil, contaminates freshwater with harmful chemicals, and pollutes the atmosphere and seas with microplastics.

The fast-fashion business has a destructive impact on the labour force and the natural environment, all for the sake of profit and with little regard for the repercussions.

EARTHDAY.ORG will conduct more Earth Day Live digital events in the coming months to spotlight fashion designers and industry insiders who are using their clout to alter standards in materials and manufacturing.

“The debate over who is responsible for altering the fast fashion sector continues: brands, customers, or governments? All three are correct. Consumer education, compelling firms to adjust their present business strategy centered on pricing and volume, and more government regulation are the keys to change.

While progress has been achieved, there is still much more to be done. EARTHDAY.ORG will concentrate its efforts on education and promotion of all projects that address the unrestrained and unsustainable fashion industry,” stated Shelley Rogers, EARTHDAY.ORG's Fashion for the Earth and Artists for the Earth Coordinator.
