ABLBL executes nine-store power play at Lake Shore Mall in Hyderabad

Signaling a definitive shift in its retail playbook, Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands (ABLBL) is executing a ‘nine-store power play’ at the newly inaugurated Lake Shore Mall in Kukatpally, Hyderabad.

The company has launched nine stores simultaneously for iconic labels like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, and Reebok, thus transitioning from traditional organic expansion to a high-density ‘cluster approach.’ This move aims to capture 100 per cent of a consumer's fashion wallet share within a single, high-traffic destination, effectively creating a brand fortress that minimizes competitor entry points.

The Hyderabad store is the first major physical manifestation of ABLBL’s aggressive post-demerger strategy. Following its separation from the broader ABFRL group in 2025, the now-standalone lifestyle entity is laser-focused on doubling its revenue by FY30 with a target of 11 per cent CAGR. This asset-light expansion, where over 70 per cent of new stores are franchise-owned, is critical to the company’s goal of boosting EBITDA margins by 300 basis points.

Dominating the Northwest Hyderabad Corridor

The choice of Kukatpally is a data-driven strike into one of Hyderabad's most underserved organized retail pockets. Despite the city's massive tech-driven GDP, its mall-to-population ratio has historically lagged behind Delhi and Mumbai. Spread over 1.6 million sq ft, the Lake Shore Mall serves as a high-potential community hub for the dense residential belts of Balanagar and Moosapet. By establishing an instant, comprehensive presence across formals, activewear, and youth fashion, ABLBL is capitalizing on the "first-mover advantage" in this micro-market. This strategy mitigates the rising challenge of high-street fragmentation, ensuring the brand remains at the center of the city’s evolving "mall culture."
