ABFRL Q2 sales double to Rs 2,054 crore

05 November 2021, Mumbai:

The second-quarter revenues of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) doubled to Rs 2,054 crore backed by eased mobility restrictions and growing online retail channels.

Sales at the company’s Lifestyle Brands division -- which houses retail brands such as Peter England, Louis Philippe, and Van Heusen -- doubled to Rs 1,156 crore in comparison to last year’s Rs 531 crore. It reported a 92 percent recovery as compared to pre-covid levels riding on its small-town expansion strategy.

Apparel store Pantaloon, a part of ABFRL, recorded an 80 percent increase in sales to Rs 665 crore for the quarter ended in September.

The Active Athleisure Innerwear segment reported revenue growth of 41 percent. Other segments such as super-premium brands and youth western wear which includes brands like Forever 21 and American Eagle reported growth aided by online channels while the ethnic wear segment grew on new-store openings.

ABFRL recorded Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBIDTA) of Rs 338 crore in Q2 as compared to Rs 136 crore in the same quarter last year.
