TechnoSport launches maiden EBO in Chennai

A rapidly growing activewear brand in India, TechnoSport has launched its first exclusive brand outlet (EBO) in Chennai. Located in the popular Besant Nagar neighborhood, the EBO is a key part of the brand’s aggressive retail expansion across South India.

The new 1,600-sq-ft store is TechnoSport's 15th EBO in the country and its fourth in Tamil Nadu. The brand already has successful outlets in Tiruppur, Salem, and Coimbatore. With Salem and Tiruppur ranking as the top two performers nationally, Tamil Nadu is a vital market for TechnoSport's growth.

To celebrate the launch, TechnoSport sponsored a ‘Friendship Day Run,’ with over 1,200 fitness enthusiasts participating in 3K, 5K, and 10K races that started and finished at the new store. The event also featured a Zumba warm-up and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

According to Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director, TechnoSport, Besant Nagar's high foot traffic from fitness lovers and trendsetters makes it the ideal location. Made in Tamil Nadu, the brand's innovative activewear is a perfect match for Chennai's active lifestyle, he notes.

Confirming the brand’s ambitious plans, Puspen Maity, CEO, TechnoSport,states, they will open a total of three EBOs in Chennai by the end of the fiscal year. The company also intends to expand into other key cities in South India, including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur. The brand's retail strategy aims to have 50 EBOs across India by year-end.

The Besant Nagar store offers a modern shopping experience and features TechnoSport's full range of performance wear. The collection includes advanced, in-house fabric technologies such as Cotflex which is known for its four-way stretch and memory function; Techno Dry which provides quick-drying performance and Matpiq that combines a soft feel with a subtle matte texture.

The products also incorporate technologies like Duracool+, TechnoGuard for antimicrobial protection, and UPF 50+ for sun protection, making them suitable for both intense workouts and everyday wear.
