Suta has opened a flagship store in Bangalore.
The store houses the women’s wear specialist’s full array of clothing and lifestyle goods and has a wide selection of saris as well as a range of women’s ethnic and fusion wear and a small men’s wear segment.
The store’s spacious interior is punctuated by pot plants, which add a natural feel. Neutral hued walls and warm lighting evoke a traditional aesthetic, which is kept fresh by the angular use of space. The store features seating sections to enable shoppers to browse at their leisure and natural wood furnishings to add a sense of luxury.
Suta, meaning thread, was launched with the aim of promoting traditional Indian handicraft techniques while modernising classic designs for a diverse audience. The brand specialises in saris and its designs are intended to mix elegance with wearability. By combining India’s rich textile traditions with contemporary patterns and techniques, Suta creates designer saris that are comfortable, easy to drape and have a distinctive look. As a brand, Suta works closely with India’s artisan community. The fashion saris are available in a variety of fabrics, including soft mul saris, crisp linen saris, luxurious silk saris and smart cotton saris. Many of the pieces are made on handlooms.
