India’s CMAI to host 81st National Garment Fair in two phases across June-July 2025

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has announced the 81st edition of its flagship trade event, the National Garment Fair (NGF), to be held in a two-phase format for the first time. Designed to offer a more focused and expansive platform for India’s apparel industry, the event will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Mumbai.
The first phase will spotlight Kids Wear from 23 to 25 June 2025, while the second phase will showcase Men’s and Women’s Wear from 14 to 16 July 2025. Over 35,000 buyers from across India are expected to attend the fair, which will feature more than 580 kidswear brands, over 800 men’s and women’s wear brands, and 40 accessories brands, spanning a total exhibition space of 57,000+ square metres.
CMAI President Santosh Katariya described this edition as timely, citing policy shifts such as import restrictions on garments from Bangladesh. “This is a defining moment for India’s apparel industry. The NGF reflects our momentum towards greater self-reliance and offers MSMEs a platform to scale up,” he said.
Rohit Munjal, Chairman of CMAI’s Fair Committee, highlighted the rationale behind the new two-phase format. “The fair sees full bookings and waiting lists each year. Splitting it into two phases allows broader participation and a more curated experience for buyers and exhibitors alike,” he said.
Joint Chairman Anand Chokshi noted that changing consumer preferences and rising festive demand are reshaping the domestic market. “This fair aligns with the industry’s evolution towards sustainability, fast fashion, and value-driven choices,” he added.
