Reliance Brands to boost efficiency through merger with Reliance Retail

26 June, Mumbai 2025

Luxury and premium retail division of Reliance Retail, Reliance Brands is set to merge with its parent company. This strategic move aims to increase efficiency within the broader retail conglomerate, at a time when the industry is seeing consolidation of sales points amidst subdued customer demand.

Founded in 2007, Reliance Brands will continue to operate as a distinct business unit under the Reliance Retail umbrella. The merger is designed to streamline operations by eliminating duplicated functions, such as property, operations, and back-end teams, bringing them under a single, unified structure. This is expected to foster a leaner and more agile organization.

Reliance Brands boasts a robust portfolio, partnering with over 85 international luxury and lifestyle brands. Its impressive roster includes globally renowned names like Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Tiffany & Co, and even the popular food chain Pret A Manger. The division has played a significant role in expanding Reliance Retail's international brand distribution and solidifying its high-end fashion presence across India.
