Popees to open first international showroom in London

Leading children’s clothing brand Popees will open its first overseas showroom in London this month.

The company will stock the trendiest collections and expand its network to GCC countries this year, says Shaju Thomas, Managing Director, Popees Baby Care Products.

With manufacturing facilities in Malappuram, Bengaluru, and Tirupur, the company plans to open at least 100 showrooms in FY23.

It has already opened five new outlets across Kerala taking the total count to 42.

The retail expansion will be based on the franchisee model, says Thomas.

The company has already drawn up various big and small franchisee models with attractive return options in view of the sizes and characteristics of locations.

They also plan to expand the product range by adding baby care products like diapers, power, mother-baby floating soap, and glycerin soap which are expected to be launched during April-May.

In FY23, Popees expects sales to cross Rs 200 crore and Rs 1,000-crore in five years.

The brand plans to transform its business model by strengthening e-commerce presence.

It will soon launch omni-channel model.

Popees already has a growing presence on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Ajio.

With a capacity to produce five lakh garments monthly, the company also plans to add toys and accessories to its range in the coming years, he adds.
