Coronavirus has remodelled G20 priorities asserts, Piyush Goyal

9th October 2021, Mumbai:

Piyush Goyal while addressing the Inaugural Session of 'ICRIER's 13th Annual International G-20 Conference' made a very strong point that “AatmaNirbhar Bharat/self-reliant India by the stretch of the imagination is to be misunderstood being closing India’s doors to the outside world, but it’s in true spirit about opening the doors wider”

Pandemic has remodelled G20 priorities, unique opportunity to inject an inclusive and equitable agenda at the G20, Piyush Goyal clearly alluded to the opportunities Covid-19 has thrown to our nation.

Unequivocally he also observed that India is in a sweet spot today & needs to build synergies with like-minded partners/ forces to bring out a credible solution on Climate Action,” he said.

“Good news is in not so distant future, developing countries like India will only be leading the organisation, Indonesia next year, followed by India.

Thus this uniquely paves way for all of us to instil a more inclusive and equitable agenda at the G20. Also to address climate change critical issue, G20 will play a pivotal role to tenably achieve all SDGs (sustainable development goals) to make this world a better living place,”
