Reliance Retail Ventures invests in Abraham & Thakore

02 March 2022, Mumbai:

The retail arm of Reliance Industries, Reliance Retail Ventures (RRVL) has acquired a majority stake in luxury fashion house Abraham & Thakore, strengthening the range of lifestyle brands under its umbrella.

RRVL will build Abraham & Thakore’s global appeal in the fashion and lifestyle by leveraging Reliance Brands’ deep understanding of affluent Indian customers and their heft across digital, retail operations, marketing, and supply chain platforms.

Launched in 1992 by David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore, Abraham & Thakore has for almost 15 years retailed predominantly in international stores before coming to India with their first fashion show presentation.

Each of the brand’s collections explores a quiet and modern design voice while simultaneously drawing on the rich traditional vocabulary of Indian design and craft.

The brand’s use of materials and its innovative adoption of technical techniques have helped the brand create a unique distinctive identity. Through this partnership, Abraham & Thakore plan to expand the presence of the brand and bring together both fashion and lifestyle collections.
