Paris fashion week men's 2022

04 February 2022, Mumbai:

Low Down

Jil Sander

Luke and Lucie Miers put a fresh spin on the label’s masculine tailoring, incorporating classically feminine techniques into their elegant suiting. Crochet was key, with panels spliced into jackets and utilised for contrasting soft accessories, softening sharp lines with a handcrafted, homespun feel.

Dries Van

Noten Dries Van Noten was also exploring the joys of life beyond lockdown. Hibiscus blooms and animal prints alluded to exotic travel destinations, whilst lurex, sequins and faux fur added a carefree, fun, party-esque element to traditional tweeds and wool tailoring.

C.L.A.S.S. SMART VOICES What's next? 2022 trends and directions

04 February 2022, Mumbai:

Backgrounder

For our first SMART VOICE session of the year, we decided to challenge the meaning of “trends” by teaming up with three fashion experts with a deep understanding of design, supply chain, communication, retail and consumer behavior.

Smart Voices - C.L.A.S.S.

The session highlighted the presence of “multi-discipline” trends, and the fact that the mere international and economic approach that has been dominating for years needs to be transformed into a respectful effort towards the human attitude and its needs: beauty, innovation, together with transparency, inclusiveness, individuality, ethics and the importance of local.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SPEAKERS:

"The pandemic has really alerted us to what we want in life, what we should be in life, mentally. For me the mental message in sustainability is just as extremely important as the physical message in sustainability." - David Shah, Publisher at Metropolitan Publishing BV and Trend Expert

"Most of the times we don’t think sustainability is creative or art, but art is one of the main elements of sustainability, even if most times we forget! Creative talents are able to bring an added value to the path towards responsibility." - Orietta Pelizzari, Global Fashion Advisor, Strategic Brand/Retail Specialist on High End Quality and Newness

"Talent is not in crisis. In times of emergency, creativity emerges like never before. However, talent is going to change the rules of how it wants to work.” - Belvis Soler, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Luxiders Magazine
