Pantaloons, a department store chain owned by the Aditya Birla Group, has opened two new stores this week in India. The first store was opened in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, and the second store was opened in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The Jabalpur store is the 15th store in Madhya Pradesh for Pantaloons.

In addition to its expanding physical presence, Pantaloons has also been strengthening its e-commerce offerings. The company launched its own e-commerce platform and it has since been growing. The platform offers a wide range of products, including clothing, footwear, accessories, and cosmetics.

Pantaloons has also been investing heavily in technology to enhance the shopping experience for its customers. In 2019, the company introduced a "Scan & Go" feature on its mobile app, allowing customers to scan the barcodes of products they want to purchase and pay for them without having to go through a checkout line. The company has also been using artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze customer data and provide personalized recommendations.

Pantaloons is a unit of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), which acquired it from the Future Group in May 2015. The department store chain offers over 100 licensed and international brands at its outlets, including its exclusive in-house brands for men, women, and children. Pantaloons currently operates over 344 stores across more than 170 towns and cities in India.

Looking ahead, Pantaloons is expected to continue expanding its physical and digital footprint in India, as the country's rapidly growing middle-class fuels demand for affordable and fashionable clothing. The company is well positioned to capitalize on this trend, with its strong brand portfolio, extensive retail network, and focus on innovation and customer satisfaction.
