Spanish apparel major Mango has reopened its flagship outlet at Ambience Mall, Gurugram, expanding square footage to transition the location into a dual-gender destination featuring its Mango Man menswear line. Executed alongside master franchisee Myntra, the enlarged Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) incorporates the brand’s Mediterranean-inspired ‘New Med’ interior concept to cater to Delhi-NCR's high-spending demographic. By introducing tailored suits, linen essentials, and capsule drops under one roof, the retailer leverages higher floor space economics to boost basket size and customer frequency. India now represents Mango’s largest Asian market, boasting over 110 points of sale.
Navigating metro real estate costs via omnichannel integration
While premium high-street expansion strengthens offline presence, elevated commercial rents in Tier-1 malls and competition from global peers like Zara and H&M pose operational margin challenges. To hedge retail overheads, Mango integrates physical flagships with Myntra’s e-commerce platform, following a 50 per cent surge in domestic online orders. Investing in larger, multi-category physical formats enhances customer experience while supporting our digital sales velocity across key metro clusters, stated an expansion director at Mango.
Mediterranean fashion retailer’s global footprint
Founded in Barcelona in 1984, Mango designs and distributes women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel across 120 international markets. Generating global annual revenues of nearly €3.8 billion, the enterprise targets scaling its Indian footprint past 120 locations through expanded EBOs and exclusive omnichannel distribution with Myntra.
