All fabrics are carefully chosen with a preference for 100 per cent natural fibers such as cotton, viscose, and flax, among others. Arias also uses biodegradable plastic made of cornstarch, recycled seed paper, coconut, and sea-shell buttons as trims. The aim is to design responsible fashion while translating current trends into comfortable, chic, high-quality products. Arias focuses on producing clothing and accessories that reduce the fashion industry's environmental impact by using natural materials, trims, and eco-friendly packaging.

Many clothing companies are going the eco route and by this hope to educate children and make them conscious in their early years.

The fashion industry is at the center of an environmental crisis and is said to cause ten per cent of global carbon emissions. Sustainability is a much more complex ideology than simply increasing the number of green plants.

He is the managing director of Dollar Industries. Big Boss is the flagship brand. The premium product now accounts for around 42 percent of Dollar’s total turnover and the economy range is around 58 percent.

Until now, the company had a very limited presence in the women’s innerwear category. But this year Dollar has already launched brassiere in the Missy segment and has also launched Kurtis. Some more products are lined up.

Page Industries is setting up a new facility in Orissa. This will significantly increase the company’s manufacturing capacity. The upcoming facility is spread over 6.5 lakh square feet and will add at least 20 per cent to capacity. It is expected to be completed by mid fiscal 2023.At the same time, the company will increase its sourcing from Bangladesh which was started almost one and a half years back since Bangladesh is advanced in terms of quality and the cost of labour is also cheap.

Page Industries, the exclusive licensee of the American clothing brand Jockey, produces 260 million garment pieces annually, with 70 per cent of the volume produced in-house and 30 per cent outsourced. It has 14 manufacturing units. For Page Industries, the sales momentum picked up significantly after the setbacks of the global pandemic. The premium innerwear and athleisure marketer saw increased momentum in sales across all product categories backed by expansion in its portfolio and existing network and is well poised and remains optimistic on delivering sustainable growth in the foreseeable future. During the second quarter the company added 13,950 multi brand outlets and 54 exclusive brand outlets to feed the robust demand in the three-month period.

Bata is targeting at bringing down the average age of customers from the current 39 years to about 25years.

This will be done by engaging young actors in advertising, introducing products for that age group, and changing the layout of stores. The company has launched a concept called the sneaker studio, which brings all of Bata’s seven brands of sneakers in India into one place.

Bata had to raise product prices due to inflation. The company has introduced new products in the price brackets which were getting vacated because of the price increase. Bata has had its highest ever quarterly sales, showcasing significant momentum across all sales channels, and the hope is that the momentum will continue.

Bata India’s businesses in other countries were impacted by the restrictions imposed by China. There were some geographies that were more dependent on China. Europe, Latin America and Chile faced the brunt of delayed shipments and also freight costs because they have longer journeys to make.

But Bata’s supply chain, because of its own factories and local sourcing, had the advantage of being able to bounce back much faster than some of its competitors. Currently, the bulk of the company’s manufacturing and sourcing in India happens for the domestic market.

Victoria’s Secret has opened a store in Mumbai and plans to open a second store in New Delhi by the end of this year. The New Delhi store will also be a large-format outlet and retail the brand’s lingerie lines, fragrances, and lifestyle goods.

The lingerie and lifestyle brand launched in the Indian market with a dedicated e-commerce store and is now expanding in the country with an omni-channel strategy.
