Gaurav Gupta has officially formalized his menswear business as a primary growth vertical with the opening of a 2,300-sq-ft flagship boutique at DLF Emporio, New Delhi. To be launched in January 2026, the store marks the first time the brand’s menswear division - established in 2017-has been granted a permanent architectural identity separate from its couture counterparts. This strategic move signals a decisive shift in the label’s market positioning, moving beyond ceremonial occasion wear into a comprehensive lifestyle universe that targets a burgeoning domestic and international luxury clientele.
Architectural philosophy and the Shunya concept
Conceived in collaboration with architect Karanbir Duggal, the boutique rejects traditional retail linearity in favor of a sculptural, gallery-like environment. The design is rooted in the Sanskrit philosophy of Shunya - interpreting emptiness not as a void, but as a space of infinite potential. Curved architectural volumes and layered spatial transitions are designed to guide visitors through a meditative retail experience where the architecture frames, rather than competes with, the garments. This introspective layout mirrors the brand’s ‘future primitive’ aesthetic, creating a physical extension of the Gaurav Gupta Man within India’s most prestigious luxury retail hub.
Strategic portfolio expansion and cross-disciplinary integration
The flagship represents a significant deepening of the brand’s engagement with the Indian market. While signature sculptural tuxedos and ceremonial bandhgalas remain core offerings, the boutique marks a conscious expansion into new categories including kurtas, Nehru jackets, and a full suite of accessories and footwear. To anchor the launch, the brand entered the automotive design space through a collaboration with MG Select, unveiling a bespoke, couture-inspired MG Cyberster. This partnership underscores the brand’s strategy to intersect high fashion with industrial art and electric mobility, positioning the store as a cross-disciplinary platform rather than a conventional point of sale. A heritage of global visibility and market growth The Gaurav Gupta Man has transitioned from a niche debut at GQ Fashion Nights to a global red-carpet staple, worn by cultural icons ranging from Jr NTR at the Oscars to Ranveer Singh. Since opening a state-of-the-art five-storey atelier in 2022, the brand’s workforce has scaled to approximately 600 artisans, reflecting a doubled capacity to meet surging demand. As the Indian menswear market is projected to reach approximately $14.7 billion by 2030, this flagship launch serves as a cornerstone of the house’s 2026 expansion strategy. It consolidates nearly a decade of menswear evolution into a singular, permanent home, laying the groundwork for potential future international flagships in the US and Europe.
